We provided services for upgrades to preserve the Level 1 status of Ben Taub Hospital’s trauma center, a vital component of the area’s scarce high-level emergency care. The new 74,425-square-foot space overlooking the Houston Zoo’s lush greenery includes five new operating rooms, two hybrid operating rooms, a blood bank, pharmacy, central sterile processing unit, 18 beds for pre-operative and post-operative care and an oral surgical clinic along with new lounges and locker rooms for doctors, nurses and staff.
The new and expanded Blood Bank and Central Sterile Processing addresses existing workflow, equipment processing, and capacity issues while allowing for future growth.
