History

Living by our mission of executing thoughtful, creative design solutions, our team is passionate, positive, loyal, and efficient, driven by our entrepreneurial roots.

On May 15, 2000 MJDII Architects, Inc. opened for business at Forum at Belt Line, 4006 Belt Line Road, Suite 210, Addison, Texas. From the beginning, the building management began utilizing MJDII Architects, Inc. for space planning and suite renovation designs.

Needing more room to grow the staff, we moved our offices in January 2003 to a new building and suite at Forum at Belt Line, 4004 Belt Line Road, Suite 210, Addison, Texas and remained at this location until September 30, 2018. While at this location, we experienced two more subsequent expansions to share our suite with Class 1 Solutions, an MEP firm and NKR Engineering, a Civil engineering firm. We had architecture, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and civil engineering design services all in the same suite but maintained our separate entities.

In 2013 both engineering companies decided to go their separate ways. On October 1, 2018, MJDII Architects, Inc. moved the offices to its current location at Bent Tree Plaza, 16775 Addison Road, Suite 310, Addison, Texas, where the landlord allowed our interiors department to design our space.

In October 2021, Johnston, LLC acquired MJDII Architects, Inc., integrating two client-centric firms who have similar values, diversity and culture, while keeping those values top of mind: Trust. Respect. Integrity.

Johnston and MJDII, with over 40 years of combined experience, have expertise in advancing technology, industrial, manufacturing, aviation and research facilities, as well as for healthcare, government and commercial clients. The ability to offer our clients architecture and MEP engineering services and the addition of exceptional talent to both teams brings increased value for our customers.
