SUMMARY:

The Human Resource Manager will lead the routine functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including recruiting, hiring, and interviewing candidates, promoting the company culture, identifying and solving team challenges, supporting benefits administration, and enforcing company policies and practices.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of five years of human resource management experience.
  • Experience in professional services (consulting, architecture, engineering) preferred.
  • Strong recruiting skills and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategies.
  • Experience utilizing multiple recruiting platforms, strategies, and compensation incentives.
  • Experience in facilitating training and development programs.
  • Experience in performance management and annual reviews.
  • Holds or willing to pursue PHR, SPHR and/or SHRM-CP certification.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners with department leaders to understand and execute the company’s human resource and recruiting strategy including future talent requirements, temporary hiring needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Collaborates with department leaders to understand skills and competencies required for respective positions.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process from sourcing candidates, interviewing, and reference checks to hiring of qualified job applicants and onboarding.
  • Assists in creating and updating job descriptions.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Organizes and leads new hire onboarding process.
  • Provides support and guidance to the management team and supporting staff when sensitive issues arise; may be required to execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigations, COVID-19 protocols, and terminations.
  • Serves as a consultant with other managers advising them on human resources issues such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment.
  • Facilitates employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains HR record-keeping, employee files, benefits administration, and HRIS maintenance.
  • Helps to coordinate health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Manages employee background checks and drug screening process.
  • Assists in creating continuous learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal and external career development opportunities for employees.
  • Participates in planning and executing company events such as lunch & learns and team building experiences.
  • Maintains general knowledge of best practices, regulatory changes, and employment law.
  • Assists in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommends best practices, and reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Stays updated of new HR information management systems.
